Her Own Devices by Shelley Adina

I read this book on my Kobo a couple weeks ago while at the beach. I have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit, as much as the first, if not more. This is the second book in Adina’s Magnificent Devices steampunk series.

I loved the budding love story in this book and how Lady Claire is figuring out her feelings for two different men. Should she marry the man who would provide her with financial security, or should she follow her heart and pursue the like-minded inventor?

There was a lot of action in this book as well, from a “prison” break to a solving of a mystery! I don’t want to say too much because it would spoil everything. 🙂

The book is very fast paced and easy to read, but there are those fittingly Victorian words that one might need to look up. Thank goodness for Kobo’s built in dictionary. I also loved the witty banter between characters.

This review is short and sweet because that’s how the book is. Short. And Sweet. And awesome. Go read it.
